2024 A Year of Healthy Canine Aging

At Leap Years, we are deeply grateful to the devoted pet parents who have entrusted us with the well-being of their beloved dogs. The bond you share with your dogs is truly special, and it’s inspiring to witness how your commitment to their health is helping to pave the way for a deeper understanding of healthy aging in pets.

Through our dedicated work in canine aging, we’ve gained key insights into cellular and whole-body aging, focusing on the decline in NAD levels and the buildup of damaged cells. These changes disrupt the body’s ability to maintain balance, leading to muscle loss, cognitive decline, cardiovascular issues, and other age-related conditions.

In 2024, Leap Years made significant strides in advancing our understanding of healthy aging in dogs. The findings from our clinical trial were published in a peer-reviewed Nature Journal, a testament to the rigorous scientific approach that drives our work. We are also proud to see such a strong community interest in this critical area of pet health. This year, the statistics speak for themselves:

  • More than 7,000 people signed up to receive updates on healthy aging
  • Close to 1,000 inquiries from curious pet parents at our support desk interested in learning more about healthy aging
  • 30 insightful blogs on topics ranging from diet and exercise to mental stimulation for aging dogs
  • And reaching a milestone of 10,000 followers on social media, a vibrant community of enthusiasts dedicated to the healthy aging of their canine companions

But what truly matters to us are the stories of the dogs and their families who have experienced the impact of Leap Years. The testimonials from pet parents reflect the profound difference our work is making in the lives of dogs as they age gracefully:

“Within a week we began seeing a huge change in his ability to get up and walk, but the most incredible thing was his demeanor! We are beyond grateful for finding Leap Years and the friendly, personal support we have received since starting our Leap Years journey! We’ve never seen a company with more dedication and sincerity in their customer service.”
— Karol P, Pet Parent of, Woody (German Shepherd)

“Three months into taking Leap Years, Zoe is following me to my downstairs office again. She has also started playing fetch again and has occasional spurts of ‘puppy zoomies.’ I am so glad we have Leap Years to help keep her healthy and active as she ages!”
— Sarah P, Pet Parent of Zoe (14-year-old mixbreed)

“We are in our third month of Leap Years and Georgia is so much better! Greeting us with enthusiastic wags and barks, bright and alert. Leap Years has blessed our family and we are grateful to have found something that is helping our girl age gracefully!”
— Maggie N, Pet Parent of  Georgia (10-year-old mixbreed)

“Chunk is even more responsive and happy with everyone that he sees, bringing even more joy to our family.”
— Pamela H, Pet Parent of Chunk (9-year-old Labrador Retriever)

These heartfelt stories remind us why we do what we do. Thank you to every pet parent for your dedication to your dog’s health and for helping to shape the future of canine aging. Together, we can continue to ensure that our furry companions enjoy many happy, healthy years by our side.

With gratitude and a heartfelt passion for healthy canine aging and the deepening of the human-animal bond, we wish you many happy years with your beloved dog.
