The safety of Leap Years was evaluated in both pre-clinical and clinical studies, and safety reports are tracked on an ongoing basis through the National Animal Supplement Council reporting system. Leap Years is well tolerated. Transient side effects reported in fewer than 1% of dogs include digestive upset (reduced appetite, soft or dark stools, vomiting, diarrhea), and facial itchiness or agitation in conjunction with intake of high vitamin B3 from other sources. Rare reports (fewer than 1 in 10,000) of transient weakness in the hind leg(s), difficulty walking and sleepiness after the golden chews, lasting between 6 and 48 hours, have occurred. In the clinical trial, side effects were no different from the placebo group.

Don't panic, and keep a close eye on your dog. In our safety studies, dogs given up to 30 times the daily dose fully recovered within 48 hours. Your dog may be tired, drink extra water or have temporary diarrhea.
